For Aga Khan University’s School of Nursing and Midwifery                             Qualification:

  • PhD in Nursing or a PhD candidate with an “All But Dissertation” status i.e., all PhD coursework completed, a proposal approved and work has begun on the dissertation 
  • M Sc-N or MEd degree in addition to BScN from an HEC recognized or reputable foreign university/institution.
  • Specialty in Public Health Nursing will be preferred; however, other specialty will be considered as well                   


  • Good wet-lab experience using sequencing based technologies, both Sanger sequencing and Next-generation sequencing for investigation of pathogen genetics and familiar with whole genome, exome, and RNA sequencing
  • Knowledge of appropriate laboratory and technical equipment      
  • Demonstrated excellence in research via a strong publication record in related field and have hands on experience running NGS assays with full confidence through the workflow

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing and teaching theoretical, clinical, or laboratory-based courses independently at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.
  • Leading curriculum design and evaluation of courses as assigned, ensuring that the current health care needs are incorporated in the curriculum for courses being reviewed and Encouraging students to self-directed learning,
  • Identifying their learning problems and adopting strategies for change as needed and Conducting independent and collaborative research studies   
  • Developing and completing special projects as assigned and providing technical expertise and assistance in the nursing initiative programs of Aga Khan Development Network
