Experience:
- At least 20 years’ experience in petroleum/related industry, preferably 5-7 years in commercial/ marketing and 3-5 years in corporate / strategic planning.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead Crude Oil Procurement & Inventory Optimization: Direct and manage the end-to-end crude oil procurement process, including negotiations and administration of contracts for supply, shipment, survey, and transportation, to ensure uninterrupted and cost-effective refinery operations.
- Strategic Coordination with Refineries: Liaise with other refineries for crude cargo-sharing arrangements, based on operational requirements and liquidity conditions, to optimize resource utilization and supply chain resilience.
- Market Intelligence & Commercial Forecasting: Monitor global and local market trends, including crude oil prices, industry stock levels, and demand forecasts. Provide timely insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Optimization of Pipeline & Refining Capacity: Provide input for throughput planning across the pipeline network and refinery, based on market off take forecasts, product demand, and cash flow projections, to maximize asset efficiency.
- Product Positioning & Profit Maximization: Develop strategies for positioning the company’s product portfolio in a manner that maximizes profitability, optimizes sales volumes, and ensures balanced inventory levels.
- Pricing Strategy & Administration: Oversee pricing processes and conduct periodic reviews for fuels, lubricants, and bitumen, aligning with production costs, market dynamics, and regulatory inputs to maintain competitiveness and profitability. Sales & Marketing Execution: Lead the direct sales and marketing of refinery fuels, bitumen, and lubricants to industrial customers, IPPs, contractors, and traders. Manage sales planning and execution to achieve revenue and market share targets.
- Management of Commercial Agreements: Manage and negotiate commercial agreements with Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) for product throughput across pipeline systems to ensure efficient product distribution and financial returns.
- Product Sales & Customer Management: Oversee contracts and sales of LPG, sulphur, and bitumen to designated marketing companies and industrial consumers, ensuring compliance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Brand Stewardship: Maintain and support the development of company’s own branded product lines, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and market expectations.
- Export Market Development: Identify and pursue export opportunities for refinery products with limited domestic demand, thereby enhancing revenue diversification and inventory turnover.
- Industry Representation & Regulatory Liaison: Represent the company at key industry platforms such as OCAC, MP&NR, and OGRA to influence policy, secure company interests, and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Management of Pricing Models & Industry Receivables: Supervise the IFEM model and coordinate with regulatory and industry bodies to ensure accurate calculation and timely collection of receivables.
- Compliance with HSEQ Standards: Ensure adherence to company safety, health, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards by proactively reporting unsafe conditions and supporting a culture of operational excellence.
