  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/Environmental Science (16 years of education) with major in GIS with major in Remote Sensing & GIS will be preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, and other GIS tools and software for identification of unserved & underserved areas with respect to Telecom /Mobile/Optical Networks, Visual Analysis, change detection, supervised and unsupervised classification estimation.
  • Functional Skills: Population estimation through GIS and Remote Sensing. IT skills, including the use and manipulation of complex databases and spreadsheets. Numerical skills with the ability to analyze data and statistics. Familiarity with Ordnance Survey mapping and digitizing techniques. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Earth Pro, and ArcGIS platforms.

Jobs Description:

  • Carrying out spatial analysis of mobile voice and broadband coverage (served, unserved, and underserved population / areas), service quality analysis, estimation of fixed/mobile networks & coverage for the development and improvement of telecom services in unserved and underserved populated areas and Capturing, converting, creating, editing, and maintaining Digital information in GIS and producing quality cartographic maps.
  • Use GIS tools to identify and categorize, population, settlements, mauzas, tehsils, union councils, their boundaries, roads, and telecom wired/wireless infrastructure.
  • Effective tracking and communication of mauza profiling status and metrics with management.
  • Improvement of processes, procedures, and tools in the Planning department.
  • Perform coverage analysis and analyze geo-telco data to Plan broadband projects while considering the maximum unserved & underserved population.
  • Analyze geographic data to extract meaningful insights. i.e., running spatial queries, overlaying different datasets, and performing other spatial operations to answer specific questions related to the projects. 
  • Perform GIS-based analysis of the existing telecom network and layout of the new network.
  • Use GIS tools to identify and categorize, population, tehsils, union councils, their boundaries, roads, and telecom wired/wireless infrastructure.
  • Spatial Data Analysis based on existing telecom nodes, routes, coverage, etc., and identify unserved & underserved areas and analyze coverage complaints.
  • Ensure effective tracking and communication of mauza profiling status and metrics to management and internal stakeholder of USF. Collect, organize, and manage spatial data from various sources. Share datasets with internal stakeholders of USF.
