Head of Legal Affairs-Karachi

Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi                              Qualification:

• Advanced Law degree from an HEC recognized educational institution in law, with specialization in international law, preferably also with some specialization in contract law, commercial law, administrative law or employment law.

Experience:

• At least 10 years’ experience as a lawyer, and at least five years at a senior level in any reputable organization

Jobs Description:

• Provide and Supervise provision of legal input into development and implementation of Institute strategy and policy relating to all areas of operations including but not limited to employment lifecycle (hiring / separation / grievance / retirement / performance), procurement (vendors / recurring), governance handbook (Board of Governors / Academic Board), student lifecycle (Admissions / Enrolment / Financial Assistance / Graduation / Discipline) and other related areas 
• Analyze legal risks facing the Institute and propose measures to minimize them.
• Also ensure the consistent interpretation and application of the institute’s regulatory framework and national law.
• Review and reform of drafts, templates and general conditions for all types of Institute’s contractual modalities, including contracts for procurement of goods and/or services, memoranda of understanding with partners and funding agreements.
• Provide strategic and technical leadership for the Institute’s lawyers in court cases, with a view to ensuring legally sound, timely, easily applied, and consistent advice.
• Providing arbitration, litigation and mediation support.
• Lead the program of work and management of the human and financial resources of the Department of Legal Affairs.
