Manager Taxation-Karachi

For a Karachi-based company by Human Resource Solutions International (HRSI), Karachi                                     

Qualification:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant.
• Knowledge of SAP and OMC sector would be preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 6-7 years of professional experience, preferably in a large national / multinational organization with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience of working in taxation department of a tax consulting firm or organization, preferably at an equivalent position or one position below

  Duties & Responsibilities:

• To review and ensure filing of monthly sales tax (both federal and provincial) returns within statutory deadlines.
• To prepare monthly sales tax reconciliations on a timely basis and getting these reviewed / signed off on a monthly basis. To effectively and efficiently handle various Income Tax and Sales Tax audits conducted by regulatory authorities / Internal & External Auditors.
• To provide Sales tax and Income Tax advisory to various internal departments and to assist these departments in achieving effective tax structure of different business initiatives / agreements and To liaise with Federal and provincial Tax authorities in respect of various Sales Tax and Income Tax notices, Refunds and litigation.
• To liaise with customers / suppliers in respect of various Sales Tax and Income Tax issues and provide effective resolution and To effectively handle Income Tax and Sales Tax litigations and filing of appeals in coordination with the legal department.
• To review and ensure filing of Corporate income tax returns and Withholding Statements within statutory deadlines.
• To prepare Income Tax position of each year and keep it updated and reconciled with Tax ledgers.
• To review and ensure that all Income Tax and sales tax related payments including on Returns or for advance tax and withholding payments are made accurately within statutory deadlines.
• To ensure that all sales tax and income tax related GLs are fully reconciled and any necessary adjustments / clearings are made on a timely basis.
