System Administrator (Enterprise Backup & Recovery) State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Karachi

For Information Technology Department State Bank of Pakistan, Karachi                        Qualification:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree (with a minimum of 16 years of education) in IT, Computer Science/Systems, Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunication or related area from HEC recognized domestic or foreign institutions.  

Experience:

• Minimum 4 years post qualification in-depth experience of administration and support on Backup Solutions, Backup Appliances, Networking and OS (Microsoft and Linux) will be a plus point.                                                                                 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform administration and monitoring of Backup & Recovery infrastructure and associated services. Installing, configuring, administering, supporting and maintaining of enterprise data backup & recovery solution which includes backup software, duplication appliances and tape library systems in a large heterogeneous data center environment.
• Configuring Data backup for Linux/Windows/VMware/Hyper-V/SQL/Oracle/DB2 backups, troubleshoot failures with defined SLA, and ensure compliance of backup / recovery requirements as per define RTO and RPO. Manage vulnerabilities and security of Backup Applications, Appliances, Servers and services on Windows/Linux Servers.  
• Provide level-1 technical support to end-users and responsible to support escalated incidents and requests registered in IT Service Desk and ensure timely resolution and/or management escalation.
• Prepare draft documents for approval in establishing and implementing standards, policies, procedures and practices as per organizational and operational need and ensure maintenance and record keeping of approved versions of all such documents
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to operations manual, SOPs, technical installation and configuration documents, disaster recovery procedures and risk register and provide feedback on policies related to Windows based systems.
