System Reliability Engineer (SRE)-Karachi

State Bank of Pakistan, Karachi                                                                Qualification:

• Masters or Bachelor’s Degree (16 years) of education) in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Computer Engineering from HEC recognized institutions or from a reputable foreign university. 

Experience:

• Minimum 08 years of working experience in IT including 05 years’ experience in SRE or similar functions with specific focus on:
• Experience in performance diagnosis and tuning of application and its underlying services like web/application server, database server and operating system
• Working experience with Oracle database and PL/SQL language and ability to write complex SQL statements into optimized SQLs for better performance Experience in working with Oracle database server tuning strategies including parameters, resources, contention, etc.       
• Strong understanding and hands on experience on Oracle AWR reports, ASH reports, Oracle trace & Oracle Performance Tuning          
• Experience of programming in Shell and Python scripting languages Ability to debug, optimize code and automate routine tasks
• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems
• Monitor application availability and take a holistic view of system health and capacity.
• Provide primary operational support and engineering services for production applications.
  

Jobs Description:

• Analyse service ticket data, perform root cause analysis, draft Root Cause
• Analysis (RCA) report and perform short-term fixes while planning for permanent fix.
  
• Provide capacity management expertise to ensure deployments are managed for robustness and high availability.
  
• Conduct DR and Cyber resiliency exercises in coordination with infrastructure teams.
