- Degree in Information Technology is a big plus
Experience:
- Deep experience managing and scaling data storage (MySQL, Postgres) and Deep experience with on-premise servers and Linux systems (Red Hat).
- Deep experience with infrastructure as code (Puppet, Open Nebula, Terraform).
- Deep experience with scripting (Bash, Python) and software engineering.
- Able to operate in a fast environment and be responsible for on-call and Excellent English communication, both written and spoken
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operational excellence of many critical services that must run reliably 24/7 and scale with increasing traffic and complexity.
- Automation, operations, and stress tests involving these database servers, which run in Proton’s data centers.
- Make sure the systems have dependable backups, redundant architecture, safe migrations, accurate alerting, and on-call support.
- Debugging and figuring out problems that inevitably come up in production
