Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, Karachi Qualification:
- Master Mariner / FICS / MS (Maritime) / MBA (Maritime/Finance/Economics) / PGD (Shipping & Transport/Maritime Law).
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of overall experience in field of Shipping / Maritime Industry.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Overall supervision of Planning Department.
- Preparation of feasibility studies of special projects in coordination with Finance and Commercial Departments. Evaluate global and regional economic trends1 trade statistics, government plans such as Five Years Plan and Annual Development Program and forecast long-term and short-term requirements of the Corporation for additional tonnage.
- Assemble, review and organize information to prepare proposals regarding expansion of fleet of services or new ventures involving allocation of Corporation’s resources. Carry out feasibility studies, economic evaluation and prepare Annual Development Program and Five Years Development Plan of the Corporation, and submit proposals for Capital Budget of the Corporation. Keep under review the state of shipbuilding activity in shipyards throughout the world and select suitable shipyards for calling quotations for construction of Corporation’s ships.
- Arrange construction of new ships in accordance with the approved development plan of the Corporation and ensure that the ships are built according to the specifications and terms and conditions of the shipbuilding agreement.
- Negotiate contracts with various shipyards and contractors for the projects, as well as settle specification of the ships and other development projects.
- Supervise, through PNSC staff or consultant, construction of new ships during the guarantee period.
- Take up the defects observed during the guarantee work.
