Experience & Skills:
- 7 to 10 Years post qualification experience.
- Skills: Laboratory operations & equipment handling.
- Quality assurance & control (QA/QC). Testing & calibration procedures (ISO/IEC 17025 compliance). Data analysis & reporting.
- Safety protocols & regulatory compliance
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete workflow of mineral sample testing from receipt to reporting. Develop and implement lab protocols for mineralogical and geochemical analysis.
- Manage scheduling and resource allocation for ongoing exploration or mining projects. Supervise sample preparation including crushing, grinding, splitting, and sieving.
- Oversee analytical tests such as X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), Fire Assay etc. Supervise lab technicians, assistants, and interns.
- Conduct training for staff on testing procedures, safety practices, and new equipment. Implement and monitor internal QC/QA procedures.
- Perform regular calibration and validation of analytical instruments.
- Prepare detailed technical reports on mineralogical and geochemical analyses. Maintain organized records of all samples and test results.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory supplies including chemicals, standards, and consumables.
