- Minimum Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Applied Optics, Photonics or related discipline
- PhD / higher qualification preferred
Experience:
- 6 to 8 years of experience in optical design, prototyping or manufacturing within defense, aerospace or high-tech industries
- Proficiency in optical design and simulation software (Zemax, Code V OSLO or equipment with strong understanding of optical materials e.g. germanium, silicon, ZnSo) and coatings for UV, VIS, NIR, NWIR and LWIR applications
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize infrared, visible and laser optical systems including lenses, prisms, coatings and detectors for defense applications and perform optical modeling, ray tracing and tolerance analysis using tools such Zermax, Code V or OSLO
- Conduct lab experiments and validation tests (MTF, special response, environmental performance
- Provide technical input during feasibility studies, system architecture and proposed phases
