Pakistan Single Window (PSW), Islamabad Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
- At least 6-7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong SQL expertise and deep understanding of relational database design. Experience in schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning. Familiarity with data governance practices, metadata management, and data catalog tools.
- Knowledge of OLTP vs OLAP systems, ETL pipelines, and BI tools.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and evolve the enterprise-wide data dictionary.
- Ensure consistent use of data definitions across applications and services. Act as the custodian for data naming conventions, standards, and metadata.
- Review and suggest improvements to existing schemas for scalability and maintainability.
- Provide guidance on normalization, de-normalization, and relationships between entities.
- Review SQL queries from development teams for performance and standardization.
- Define and enforce best practices for query design, indexing, and joins. Define strategies for data archiving, retention, and partitioning. Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements. Provide input on ETL/ELT design, ensuring minimal impact on transactional systems.
- Help define data models for reporting and analytics use cases.
