Salary: including accommodation allowance of 1700-1900 OMR per month. This can be discussed on a case-by-case basis and is negotiable for the right person. In addition transport allowance is provided, Medical insurance cover is provided on top of the basic salary and Mobilization flights and visa costs. Single status candidates for this position and married or family status will not be provided for this role.                                                                                    Qualification:

  • BSc Qualification in an Engineering related subject such as Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • An additional Master’s Degree Qualification.
  • A Chartered or Professional Engineer status is also highly desirable.    

Experience:

  • 20 + years of experience is required for this senior level role. Extensive experience in flood mapping, flood protection, mitigation engineering, hydrology engineering or related areas.
  • Strong proficiency in Hydraulic modelling software for flood protection and HEC-RAS HEC-HMS and GIS.
  • Experience of overseeing a team for Flood Modelling/ Mapping Flood Protection and Hydraulic Engineering.            

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies for water resource management, including flood risk mitigation and hydrological risk assessment.
  • Conduct thorough hydrological studies, focusing on watershed analysis, water cycle research, and flood estimation. Statistical analysis of rainfall data, gap analysis, etc. Perform detailed meteorological studies to understand and predict weather patterns and their impact on hydrological systems.
  • Employ advanced hydrological modeling software for in-depth analysis, predictions, and flood estimation.
  • Design and manage effective watershed management and rainwater harvesting systems, incorporating flood risk assessments.
  • Generate precise hydrological maps and data visualizations using GIS and other state-of-the-art technologies.
