Senior Instrument Engineer-POL, Fields

• B Sc. Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering.

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Fertilizer, Chemical or Petrochemical industry. Experience of power generation and distribution system, Generator Controller (Deepsea), variable frequency drives, switch gears, transformers and motors.
  

Skills:

• Should have sound knowledge (programming/configuration) and troubleshooting skills on DCS (Honeywell Experian & Emerson DeltaV) and PLC (Allen Bradley).
• Troubleshooting and calibration experience on Emerson Gas Chromatograph & Flow Computers (FloBoss FB 103/107), Control valves, Flow meters, Level transmitters etc.
• Should have sound knowledge of applicable international standards and safe work procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare DeltaV DCS Backups, perform troubleshooting and configuration, including simple loop configurations and commissioning. Provide instrument & electrical design support for routine daily operation of process units.
• Prepare work scopes, cost estimates, schedules, material specs, sketches, construction work packages and other required documentation. Troubleshoot problems & issues, develop alternatives, and propose & implement solutions for long-term reliability.
• Maintain record & history of maintenance, spares arrangements and budget preparation and monitoring.
• Answer technical inquiries, make technical recommendations, improve design tools, & develop design procedures and provide training. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable Environmental, Health, Safety, & ISO standards and codes.
• Design instrument loops including selection & sizing of flow meters, control valves, gas chromatography analyzers and other field instrumentation. Read, understand & develop drawings including P&IDs, schematics and connection diagrams.
• Evaluate & select suppliers for specific instrumentation applications. Identify, investigate and rectify Electrical and Instruments breakdowns or tripping. To perform parameter programming in software and fault finding of VFDs.
• Must be able to provide technical support to all relevant sections and coordinate regarding routine operations, maintenance as well as plant modifications and emergencies.
