Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of relevant professional work experience, is required. Work experience involving technical cooperation in developing countries, is desirable; Experience in the field of economic strategy and development gained through studies or through work in the public or private sector is required; Experience in all phases of the project cycle, is desirable; Experience in evaluating the needs, conditions and problems in developing countries is desirable

Jobs Responsibilities:

  • Main Responsibilities: Program Development:
  • Proposes and contributes to the development and formulation of cooperation projects/programs that cut across the varied and wide mandate of the Directorate, with special emphasis on the Regional Bureaus and Field Network, in line with the guidelines and procedures governing the delivery of UNIDO services, and obtains internal approval. . 
  • Program Implementation: Participates in gathering data, analyzing information, tracking status and rectifying actions related to ongoing programs and projects that cut across thematic areas in Headquarters and the Field. Assists in the preparation of the necessary inputs (project/program documents, consultant job descriptions, terms of reference, training arrangements, etc.) and monitors progress in implementation, including through missions to project sites where applicable                                      
  • Funds Mobilization: Cooperates with other divisions in-house in mobilizing the funds necessary for project and program implementation.                                       
  • Global Forum Function: Cooperates with team members to organize and run UNIDO global forum activities (conferences, seminars, expert group meetings, Member State consultations etc.).
  • Contributes to the preparation of technical papers, background documentation, agenda, talking points, or other written inputs for such engagements. Assists in the preparation of UNIDO publications and other information dissemination/communication aids and tools. Keeps abreast of technical and economic developments in the area of inclusive and sustainable industrial development, including by developing contacts with specialized institutions and industry representatives, following the specialized press, market developments and trends.
