  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in surveillance of power plant construction with EPC contractor, utility or inspection authority.
  • Working Knowledge of power plant design and construction, Construction planning and management, Materials Welding, NDE and Quality Assurance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Document Review and approval of ITP (Inspection Test plan), Method of statement, Welding & Repair procedure, Welding procedure specifications (WPS) / Procedure qualification records (PQR), NDE (Non Destructive Examination) procedures, Hardness test procedure, PMI test procedure, Hydrostatic/ Pneumatic test procedures, Technical Service Personal Qualification Records, Calibration documents for Welding, Heating, PWHT and NDE Equipment’s. Conducting Material Inspections as per Material Inspection request received from the Contractor with reference to Material Test certificates and Packing List Provided. Witnessing WQT (Welder Qualification Tests) with reference to the approved WPS and provide Welder Performance certificate for those who qualify based on Visual and Radiographic Examination of the welds.
  • PRESSURE VESSELS: The following standards, codes and recommended practices are used for pressure vessel inspection, rerating, repair, and alteration of in-service pressure vessels: API -510 Standard; Pressure Vessel inspection Code: In-Service Inspection, Rating, Repair, and Alteration. API Recommended Practice 572; Inspection Practices for Pressure Vessels. API Recommended Practice 576; Inspection of Pressure-relieving Devices. API Recommended Practice 577; Welding Inspection and Metallurgy. API Recommended Practice 571; Damage Mechanism Affecting Fixed Equipment in the refining Industry
  • PIPING SYSTEM: The in-service inspection code for piping system inspection is API Standard 570. The other API and ASME Code can be used as supplementary information. The following standards, codes and recommended practices are used for pressure vessel inspection: API Standard 570; Piping Inspection Code: In-Service Inspection, Rating, Repair, and Alteration of piping system. API Recommended Practice 574; Inspection Practices for Piping System Components. API Recommended Practice 577; Welding Inspection and Metallurgy. API Recommended Practice 571; Damage Mechanism Affecting Fixed Equipment in the Refining Industry. API Recommended Practice 578; Material Verification program for New and Existing Alloy. Piping Systems, ASME PCC-2 Repair of Pressure Equipment and Piping, ASME B16.5, Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings. ASME Section B31.1; Rules for Constructing Power Piping.
