By Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of UN Qualification:
- Master’s degree in water resources/hydrology or a related field
Experience:
- 5+ Years proven experience in providing support and advice to government agencies on water related issues or conducting economic analysis of water security issues; professional experience in water resources assessment and water-related research.
- Skills: Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions is desirable. Sound knowledge of hydrology, hydrogeology, climate, soils, irrigation systems (hardware and software).
- Experience in conducting water accounting.
- Experience in on-the-job capacity building in water-related subjects and Experience of engaging actively with key stakeholders. Demonstrated abilities in designing data collection, conducting assessment, survey and other studies with minimal supervision;
- Strong analytical and report writing skills;
- Computer skills in Engineering Software, Office Applications Including SPSS, Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point; Fluency in local languages spoken in Sindh, particularly in Umarkot and Sanghar Districts are desired.
Jobs Description:
- Collect and compile all the relevant data, information and materials related to water in Sindh Province.
- Develop technical specification and tender documents for instruments such as canal flow monitoring instruments, weather stations, and evapotranspiration measurement instruments and Also participate in bid evaluation for the instruments.
- Support water accounting assessments at province, canal command and watercourse level for Sindh Province and Organize training events and workshops for water accounting, use of instruments, water-related software/techniques for stakeholders in Sindh Province and prepare event reports
